Benefits of PM Housing Scheme: It is everyone’s dream to have a permanent house of their own. This dream of many people gets fulfilled. Many people have to struggle a lot for this. The Government of India helps those who are unable to build a house. The Government of India provides financial assistance to needy people to build permanent houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
People in almost all the states of India are getting a lot of benefits from this government scheme. Till now crores of people have got their houses built under this scheme. Now the list of beneficiaries of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh has been released. This year the government will send them financial assistance.
2025 families will get 1.5 lakh
Through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, 3896 such families have been selected in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. Out of which, the government will now provide financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh to 2025 families to build a permanent house. The government will send this amount in three installments. Rs 65000 will be given in the first installment. While Rs 52000 will be given in the second installment. In the third and last installment, Rs 33000 will be sent to the accounts of these people. Under MNREGA, an amount of Rs 15000 will be given to the laborers.

So far so many people have got benefit
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was started on 1 April 2016. Under this scheme, the government’s goal was that all people should have pucca houses. The scheme was in two formats. The first was Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, while the second was Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. Under this scheme, the government gives financial assistance to poor people to convert kutcha houses into pucca houses. Under the scheme, there was a plan to provide pucca houses to all people by the year 2022.
But the government extended this scheme till 2024. In this scheme, 60% share is given by the central government, while the remaining 40% is contributed by the state government. According to government data, 1,18,63,073 houses have been sanctioned so far under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Urban Scheme. Out of these, the construction of 78,26,765 houses has been completed.
Who gets the benefit
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, citizens who do not have a permanent house in any corner of the country, people living in slums in urban and rural areas, people from economically weaker sections, people from lower income group, people from middle income group, people from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Classes, people from minority communities, disabled people, all these are eligible for benefits under the scheme.
